On January 15, 2013 my life was changed forever.  I was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes.  It is a 24/7 disease that never gives me a break (or my parents!)  I have to check my blood sugar many times a day, get insulin injections just to stay alive, and count every carb I eat!  Can you imagine not being able to eat a snack after school or whenever you want?? It isn’t fun!  But I have learned to give myself my own insulin injections which is pretty cool.

JDRF is so important to me and my family.  They are working SO hard to find a cure for me and so many others who have Type 1 so we can live freely.  I really hope you can join my team, walk, and donate to help find a cure!  No amount is too small!!

Type 1 Diabetes is a life threatening auto-immune disease that stops the pancreas from producing insulin.  Without insulin you will die.

There is NO known cause or CURE for Type 1 Diabetes.
